Classic EV's and design
Turning a classic car into an EV involves some design as you can imagine. As we’re taking out the engine, the fuel tank and some other bits and pieces, and adding a battery pack, an electric engine and a BMS, it is a question of fitting the right piece in the right spot.
But it goes further, we also had to design new pieces. Here’s a good example. We have decided to keep the gearbox and the gearshift selector, not only because it will allow to reverse the EV-conversion, but also because the interior will remain more faithful to the original car. This means we had to develop an adapter plate to connect the electric engine and the gearbox.
To fit everything into the car, we will use the original engine mounting points in order to make sure the car can receive the necessary homologation to register it.
